My Autobiography
It was on a bleak 10th day of January , 1991 and the sun is about to rise when a woman gave birth to a healthy child of her own and a greatest gift God had ever given to her and to the man whom she married and promise to love forever, her husband. The child is their fourth and youngest offspring. They designated the child “Maria Cassandra”, a feminine name for the child is a girl, but the man’s mother disagreed with the idea so she named the child “Rosana”. It is because her favorite song is “Rosanna” by Toto. The couple agreed for they respect the lady…
And that’s the “etymology” of my name! I am the child who was named by my grandmother. I am Rosana Valerio Martin, contently living in our humble abode with my family in San Nicolas, Gapan City.
I am presently a third year student at Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in English. I am enthusiastically performing my best in order for me to reach my dream; it is to be a teacher. It has always been the greatest dream of my parents for me. At first I’d give up the notion, to be a newscaster or a disc jockey is what I wanted. But as the time goes by, I realized that being a teacher is being the noblest mankind for the teacher is the maker of the forms. Without them there will be no doctors, nurses, architects, engineers, etc.
How am I going to tell things about myself? Well, let’s formulate questions so there will be an order and to have a flow of some sort of story. The questions are: What kind of daughter am I? What kind of follower am I? What kind of friend am I? And lastly; what kind of person am I in the real sense of the word?
Let’s start now with, what kind of daughter am I? Well, honestly speaking, I am neither good nor bad. I don’t know how to explain it well. But the most important is that, I know in myself, I love my parents. I have so much debt of gratitude to them. I respect them. If not because of them, I will not be here in this world. I do whatever they say so I gained so much trust from them. I will not do such things that will hurt them and lose their trust in me. “Once the glass had been broken into pieces, it’s really hard to form it again on its original shape” (Professor Jennifer Flores). I value things they did and gave to me. So I’ll look forward to return things they had done and given.
What kind of follower am I? Shocks! I was so speechless! Deep within me, I love God with all my heart. I trust Him everything in my life. I was just speechless because my faith in Him is immeasurable. But of course there are instances that I broke his “rules”. As the saying goes, nobody is perfect…
What kind of friend am I? A complicated and a controversial question… It is because I will be biased if I will answer it on my own. But modesty aside, I have lot of friends, real friends. We have strong friendship. What do you think? Do I have inferiority complex? Am I not friendly? Or just pretending to be one? Well, you be the judge.
What kind of person am I in the real sense of the word? I am the kind of person who always put passion and perseverance in everything I do. I am not that intelligent, so those words are the only weapons I can use to battle and strive for more…
Well, all’s well that ends well. I hope I made things clear about myself. Before I end my “story” I will tell you first my favorite quote from Bob Marley. “Who are you to judge me? I am not perfect and I don’t live to be. But before you start pointing fingers, make sure your hands are clean” This really inspires the way I live my life…
